Our RV Must-Haves (The Real-World, Tried-and-Tested List)
When we started preparing to move into our RV, I went into full research mode. I watched countless YouTube videos, dove into Reddit threads, and joined several Facebook groups filled with people already living the RV life. Honestly, I had been following some of those groups for years before we ever made the leap.
I built an Amazon list early on, adding and deleting items while watching prices until it felt like the right time to buy. Some things turned out to be absolute must-haves that you truly cannot live without. Others are not essential, but they make life easier, smoother, and a little more comfortable when your home is on wheels.
To keep things simple, I created a dedicated page on our website with the items we personally use. No sponsors. No paid promotions. Just real products that have survived life on the road with two humans, two dogs, and two cats. I’ll keep updating it as we learn and continue to figure out what actually earns its space inside 300 square feet.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone starting out, it would be this: do not travel right away. Stay in one location for a bit. Learn how your RV works and get used to the space and systems that keep it running. We parked for a while and used that time to adjust. I made several trips to our storage unit, swapping things in and out until we found what truly worked for us.
We’re still evolving, and that is the beauty of it. Some items that make a big difference for us might not matter to you, and that’s completely fine. The key is finding what fits your rhythm and your version of comfort on the road.
